Does a bad job of recognition and impossible to change errors in recognition. Tried to change $00.42 to $42.00 three times and it would never take. Kept being unable to get the total of the items to match the printed. App needs work. Might be ok for a max of four guests and small checks but we had 7 and a $384 bill including tax and tip and close to 20 items and the app was useless.

This is an amazing app! Ive been looking for something like this for Ages! Cannot believe so few people know about this. Would receive 5 stars if not for tiny bug: If you want to correct the amount (that was recognised) and its not in $$ then it just shows NaN.

Really great start to something that could finally solve a big problem in restaurants.

I had this brilliant idea at dinner the other night and started to research OCR to see if I could make a simple dirty version. Luckily I found Divvy before I wrote any code. So thankful that in a sea of crappy attempts Divvy has done this so well.

This is the best bill splitter app there is!! So easy to use and no need to type in the numbers

Its pretty simple and gun. Gives you a good excuse to take your phone out if you want to discreetly check your text messages while your in there.

Please allow avatars (icons representing people) to have names! Its really hard to remember who is who with more than a few people.

I have a friend who always insists that I’ve paid too much. I use Divvy to prove that she is the one overpaying. (It’s actually a nice problem to have compared to the times I used to subsidize others’ drinks, appetizers, and tightwad tipping.) Divvy works amazingly well and is easy to use. Just view the developer’s web site tutorial to see how simple it is to use.

An awesome app if you frequently dine out with others.

This app is perfect in so many ways!! Well thought out and easy to use. I wish more people would be on board using it!! This app definitely doesnt get the recognition it deserves!! Just wish I could save receipts and email them out to recipients. Also allowing the group at the table to connect and help organize the bill would be awesome.

Im very happy with this app! It works better than any Ive used in the past. My only suggestion would be to add flash to the pictures you can take of your guests.

Worked great for a long time, but now it crashes every time I try to start it up.

I tried five times on a clearly printed receipt, and it never was unable to recognize all the dollar amounts accurately. Its thinking that $8.69 is $.69, refusing to see the number eight. And it missed quite a few items altogether. I cant imagine the items it did recognize would add up to the total. Zero value to me so far.

If I already took the picture of the bill but dont have the paper anymore, I cant use this app. First app Ive ever used that has a camera but doesnt offer the alternative of loading a photo I already took!! Also, need to be able to save peoples pictures that youve added, forever. I took pictures of 2 friends and then started over on a new bill and they were gone!

OCR technology works surprisingly well, and mistakes are easy to fix. Interface a bit cartoonish (Id prefer something sleeker and more modern, like Splitwises appearance) but functional. Would prefer names instead of pictures as trying to remember who is which avatar gets confusing at times. It also doesnt seem to be possible to add the tip as a dollar amount, only a percentage. App somewhat buggy--it wont allow dragging items from the bill to the avatars if you scroll the image of the receipt down unless you rotate the phone to landscape. Im not optimistic thisll ever be fixed as the author hasnt updated the app in two years, but its still worth the few cents it costs in my opinion, as it makes splitting bills quite easy.
