One of the best apps for splitting bills. One splitting is complete you verify totals so that you know you did it right. The OCR is accurate. Need to update, add names instead of avatar. Be able to share/send splits via text or email and save them. Hasnt been updated since 2013. Please update.

Big disappointment. Even a clear image of the receipt will still require you to manually enter and/or correct values. This app will leave you floundering while you try to capture an "acceptable" photo. If you accomplish that you face the additional embarrassment of furiously tapping your screen and trying to type in values that the app "had trouble with" while your group and the servers wait for a final check.

Ive only had one occasion when the OCR didnt work, otherwise it does perfectly. I agree with other reviews that the cartoonish GUI should be updated and the pictures should be replaced with name options. My biggest issue though is when there are multiples on the menu, but no way to figure that out. A menu will often say: 2 of this item - $5, and it means $5 each, but it doesnt recognize that and there is no way to fix it, so its fairly useless in that case.

This is a very well-made app. After using this just once and following the prompts, I was able to get the hang of it. It is actually able to scan all of the numbers on the screen so theres no manually entry--very cool. It took me under two minutes to assign menu items to my friends and find out who owed what. I could even merge the total bills of two people paying together, round to the nearest dollar, and divide up an appetizer by thirds (since I ate more than my half…). Very cool and way better than any other check splitting apps out there that Ive ever found. This will pay for itself considering how often I overpay with friends at restaurants. No more!

Downloaded this app this morning and already saved the 2.99 having lunch with co-workers. Im always the guy who throws in $20 extra because its easier than dealing with it The OCR recognized the receipt perfectly. Its actually pretty fun to use.

I just bought the app and tried it out - this is going to change nights out with friends or co-workers when I really just ordered a salad. So easy to use - the app walks you through any questions and you can verify if everything adds up. I kinda love it.

Bought this app today and already love it! I hate asking waitstaff for separate checks but always end up paying more than my share of a group bill because I dont want to quibble over the details. Problem solved thanks to Divvy!

I still cant believe this works. You just take a picture of the bill and then start divvying up all the items among your friends. I am now officially done paying for my friends expensive glasses of wine when I get water!!

Every time I go out with friends to eat, its a nightmare splitting up the bill. Divvy makes it so easy, and saves everyone from a big headache. I was surprised with how easy it is to use, but it works. Just drag the line items, split it all up and youre done. A total necessity for anyone who eats out with any frequency.

Awesome app. Used it tonight. Only weird thing is it had a problem picking up the prices so I just put it in. It auto "divyd" up the prices tip and tax perfectly. Very fricken cool

So much easier than trying to split a bill by yourself, and I love that you can just take a picture of the receipt instead of having to type in all the numbers!

So far this is the best bill splitting app out there. Ive tried most of the options out there and this one is the easiest and most intuitive to use. Fantastic app.

I have spent hours scouring the app store looking for the perfect bill splitting app. Most didnt have the features I was looking for, and the ones that came close were difficult to use and required several minutes of tediously typing in each item. Then, I discovered that a few apps used OCR scanning software to automatically recognize the items and their associated prices from the check. Divvy is the most intuitive app in the OCR check splitting group and includes almost all the features I have been seeking. The ability to quickly take pictures of the guests at the table eliminates the need for typing in each persons name. Dishes can be split unevenly among guests (useful for those who eat more of an appetizer than others), and once you drag a particular item to a person, it grays out the item so you know its already been assigned. You can even arrange people in subgroups on the summary screen so that people who are paying together can see their total. The developers have clearly put a lot of thought and effort into Divvy, and when I wrote to them on Sunday night regarding suggested improvements, they quickly responded the following Monday morning. Since Divvy has the ability to access contacts, I asked if they had plans to allow us to send a copy of the check split summary to each guest. They responded that it is "at the top of our list of features to implement" so I am looking forward to a future update with that functionality. This app is incredibly simple to use and will eliminate the dreaded awkward moments that arise when the overall amount is short because of certain guests who inaccurately calculate their portion of the tab.

This app is unbelievably useful. As long as the receipt is legible, the experience of splitting a bill is fluid, accurate, and (surprisingly) fun! I love that you can specify items that are not taxed on the same receipt as those that are. This app is an excellent use of the iPhones hardware, and it brilliantly executed. I look forward to many updates! Note: it could use a way to save (PDF) and share (e-mail, text, Facebook, Twitter) the results of a split.

Except for my idiot friends who all want to play with the app, it did a GREAT job. It could use a tutorial though.

One of my fav apps. Smartly recognize the bill individual items. Give you chance to update the amount. Spilt the bill with minimal effort. Friends always want to see how it works amazingly.

Very cool app. Definitely impressed. And the functionality is awesome. Definitely going to recommend to friends.
